A Little Story About a Rebrand
Remember when I posted on Instagram about a rebrand announcement coming in my near future? Here's where I clue you in on what that was all about.
When I started stephspace.com in 2015, I wasn't quite sure where I was going with this blogging thing. I knew if I bought a domain name and started throwing thoughts together, no matter how trivial, at least I'd be held accountable to share my writing and keep my hands in the web/social media realm.
Around the same time, I had a year-old Etsy shop called Stephunny Says where I sold hand-stamped greeting cards and gift tags. I loved stamping because it's basically tiny printmaking, but the only problem was that since I wasn't creating my own stamps, I felt stunted whenever I didn't have the tools to put exactly what I had envisioned on my cards. More on that later ...
SO WHAT ABOUT STEPHUNNY SAYS?
One motivation for changing the name of my card line was in discovering that the spelling Stephunny, while meant to be punny and light-hearted (I'm Stephanie! I'm funny!), turned out to be more confusing than I anticipated. I wanted a name where I could introduce myself without stumbling through the pronunciation and an explanation of the word play. Good puns are more obvious than that.
So between doodling all sorts of card ideas I couldn't produce with my stamps and brainstorming a better name for Stephunny Says, I started to dream up a world in which my blog and cards shared a brand.
THE NEW STEPH SPACE
That brings us to today. I've decided to merge my branding here on stephspace.com, so that my blog and cards live harmoniously together as STEPH SPACE. I'm also introducing a line of cards that have been created digitally, giving me the freedom to produce [almost] every piece of stationery my paper-loving heart desires in addition to my handmade and vintage lines of greeting cards.
I'm really jazzed to introduce some new cards in time for the holidays! For a hint about what to expect, they're inspired by the short run of cards I made with huge neon stickers last year. I loved the punch of bold, bright letters on those and have something similar, plus the possibility of all-new products, in store for Christmas 2016.
